Dining
On the shores of Loch Fyne, The Creggans Inn provides rooms with beautiful Loch and garden views. The Creggans Inn has been recognized as Scottish Inn of the Year 2014 and Hector award winning Hotel of the Year. Each room is lightly and calmly furnished, featuring a private bathroom with free toiletries and a hairdryer, a TV, and free tea and coffee. Some rooms include a desk suitable for work. Macphunn's Bar and Restaurant is a cosy, traditional bar with a log fire, serving a wide range of malt whiskies and local real ales. The restaurant focuses on a locally sourced seasonal menu, including seafood. Complimentary fishing rods are available for guests to fish in Loch Fyne. The hotel is located 5 minutes from Argyll Forest Park and 15 minutes from Ardkinglas Woodland Garden. Well-behaved dogs are welcome throughout most of the hotel, and packed lunches can be arranged for excursions. Free Wi-Fi is available in all guest rooms at The Creggans Inn.
Pros
The garden includes an outdoor fireplace for relaxing evenings.
Laundry and ironing services are available for guest use.
Guests have access to a private beach area along Loch Fyne.
Cons
The hotel's remote location means there are no other bars or restaurants within walking distance.
The loch-side road outside the hotel can be busy at times, leading to potential noise.
“The setting overlooking Loch Fyne provides a constant, stunning backdrop that truly elevates a stay here. Guests consistently highlight the genuinely friendly service, which manages to remain attentive even during busy periods. The kitchen consistently turns out exceptional dishes, with a particular knack for seafood and comforting local fare, making mealtimes a genuine pleasure.”
